Sophie's Career

After studying biomedical science, and specialising in Pharmacology, Sophie worked as a laboratory research scientist developing specialised pharmaceuticals. Following four years in the lab and her own health revelations, she decided to pursue a career in natural medicine and so returned to university to study a Master’s degree in Clinical and Public Health Nutrition at University College London (UCL).

During her time there she studied and worked under the Emeritus Professor Mervyn Singer, supporting research into mitochondrial dysfunction and critical care medicine, as well as conducting her own research into stress and digestive function.

Wasting no time in starting her Nutrtion career, before graduating Sophie began working for the UCL student union Elite Athlete programme as Performance Nutritionist; a role she enjoys to this day.

Sophie's diverse career spans industry and innovation, academia, private practice and consultancy. Highlights include helping elite athletes make it to the Olympics, formulating cutting-edge nutritional supplements, developing a degree in Nutrition and winning a global Innovation Lab process as Technical and Project Lead for a bespoke nutrition coaching platform.

Sophie's passion is for helping people understand their brain and body and how nutrition and natural approaches can help them feel their best. Her work and research focuses on chronic and complex conditions including

stress & fatigue, mental health, digestive health, pain, hormone balance and neurodiversity.

Whilst working in academia Sophie learned she was neurodivergent (Dyslexia & ADHD). Following this discovery, she realised the power nutrition and natural medicine had played in helping her throughout life and so gained specialist qualifications to help other neurodivegent individuals thrive.

Sophie has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and outside of her clinical hours you will find her buried in research, adding to her diverse list of qualifications, reading psychology, nutrition and health literature, writing for industry publications, giving public talks, lecturing and creating novel solutions to global health problems.
